Whether you purchased Age of Mythology: Retold on the Microsoft Store, Xbox or Steam, you will be able to create and play multiplayer matches with others regardless of your platform and input. All you need to do is create a multiplayer lobby for it to show up in the universal game lobby.
If you are not seeing friend’s lobbies or would like to make changes, please check the settings for your platform. To change the settings:
- Go to Settings from the Main Menu (Click on the ☰ in the upper right side of the menu)
- Go to the Game tab from the left-side menu
- Scroll down to the Multiplayer section.
Microsoft Store
Cross-Network:
This is toggled On by default.
- On = Matched with players on all platforms.
- Off = Matched with only with other Microsoft Store or Xbox players who also have cross-network disabled.
This may be turned off depending on the account & privacy settings. If lobbies are not appearing, then check to ensure you are set to online and open for multiplayer.
Cross-Input:
Cross-Input setting are available in the lobby settings or Custom, Quickmatch, and Ranked matches. When enabled, matchmaking is allowed for multiple input types, such as controller and mouse & keyboard. Disabling the Cross-Input mode will require all players to use a controller for gameplay.
Xbox:
Cross-Network:
