The Known Issues & Solutions page is meant to help provide information regarding high-priority issues, such as those impacting a fair number of players, or that are most disruptive to gameplay.
DisclaimerPlease note that this is not a comprehensive list. This page is reviewed after each Update, Patch and Hotfix. Items in this list may be removed without a fix to make room for higher priority issues. Issues that could be leveraged for an unfair gameplay advantage (AKA exploits) will never be included on this list. |
How do I report a bug?
If you encounter a bug or any other issue that is not on the list below please follow these steps:
- Check our Support pages for common troubleshooting and workaround steps.
- Search the Age IV forums for existing reports to add a comment with your example.
- Start a new thread on the Age IV / Report a Bug forums to report a new issue.
- If you encounter a crash, before you restart the game, please contact our Customer Support team and provide your Warning Logs.

Issues have been marked with a status that best represents their current state:

Fixed | Once the fix is available in the game we will provide a link to the appropriate Release Notes. We will only keep items on this list for about 6 months before removing them. If an issue has been fixed, and you are still encountering it, please reach out to Customer Support. |

These are issues which have a high impact on gameplay or disruptive to players and are a high priority for us. These issues are in no particular order.
Missing Achievements when linking an Xbox Live and Microsoft Store account to a Steam profile |

We are aware of an issue where some Achievements that have been unlocked on an Xbox live / Microsoft Store account do not carry over when linking to a Steam profile. We do not require additional reports of this issue at this time. |
Certain resource stats do not appear correct while in Observer mode |

Training Mastery progress does not occur during The Rise of a King Campaign |

We are aware that new players on the Xbox platform do not receive progress to their Training Masteries while playing missions in The Rise of a King campaign. This is by design as The Rise of a King is meant to be a tutorial to gameplay mechanics. |
Military Buildings are Sometimes Unable to Produce Units in Loaded Matches |

We are aware of an issue that can result in military buildings in a loaded match being unable to produce units. This issue is most likely to occur if the match is saved after researching the Military Academy technology from a Blacksmith. We are investigating this issue and do not need any further reports. As a workaround, we suggest avoiding the Military Academy technology if you plan to save and finish your match later. |
Trouble Saving Earned Rewards – Portraits, Monuments, and Coat of Arms |

If you have recently earned an in-game reward though an event or ranked season, you may get an error when trying to equip the portrait, monument, or coat of arms. This error should clear itself but may require a restart of the title. For more details: Trouble Saving Earned Rewards |
Custom Terrain Types are not usable with the Terrain Tool when making a crafted map |

Loading Campaign Save Gives Popup Warning About Mods |

We are aware that loading into a Campaign save file that was created before the current patch causes a popup warning indicating that the save file uses out-of-date mods. This is an erroneous error message and can be clicked through to ignore. We do not require any further reports of this issue. |
Hallow's Hearth Event Challenge “Threatening” Can be Triggered on Any Biome |

We are aware that the event challenge “Threatening” for Hallow’s Hearth can be triggered on any biome, despite the in-game text saying it has to be the Hallow’s Hearth biome. This issue will not be fixed before the event’s end. |
Auto Villager Creation on Xbox Does Not Function in Two Campaign Missions |

We are aware that Auto Villager creation does not work on console for two missions: "1105, The Fall of Bayeux" within The Normans Campaign and "1514, Moscow versus Lithuania" within The Rise of Moscow. These will be addressed in future updates. |
Outposts fail to Render after Researching Pax Mongolica on some machines |

We are aware of an issue that can occur on Xbox One consoles, and on PCs using Gen7 graphics cards, where after researching Pax Mongolica the player's Outposts will render as pre-cached cubes. We are investigating this issue and do not require any further reports. |
